Finally we arrived in Austin after my sis drove for three hours, then we passed the crass hotel 2x before we finally found it! Duh! Oops. I was supposed to be navigating....If there weren't 2 events going on in town here, we'd be staying at the Hilton for a cheaper price...at least it has a pool though it's unheated!
Dressed up like a pretend Thelma and Louise, even though I've never seen that iconic movie! Pink pants and a pink and black tight top with pink flip-flops with pink and white flowered soles! Moi! PINK! Hard to believe (for those who know me!).
Sis wore a lovely pair of faded denim capris (she's a very slim, hot looking gal for her age!
We sped just fine from Dallas here though in under the Mapquest predicted 3 hours and 25 minutes. And to be totally, totally honest, Mapquest wouldn't allow the exact address, just the zip code thus the directions, though narrated meticulously by me were vague and perhaps even incorrect, so that was another part of the problem. When we stopped to ask directions and of course, go to the bathroom (that's Canadian for going to the loo), the good ol' boys couldn't help out either....long story...
And we checked in, I've stayed in worse places but not for $160/night USD. This place is perhaps one eighth of a step above a Motel 6. In fact, I think the one we passed looked better than this but it was booked. This place was the only place not booked when sis finally made one last weather check and we found out that it was going to be freezing in Galveston!
So now, I'm typing in the lobby, I'm ready to eat, starving to tell the truth and sis is getting ready in the room and we are going to eat delicious food soon after spending an hour or so at the pool!
Talk to later all y'all! Special hellos to my watchers, all y'all babies! LZ

I'm very disappointed LZ, you in PINK
"I hope you can use that hotel pc once again to file us in about tuesday night with the boys.
Galveston is cursed no doubt, now it's freezing too!
I thought I had lost the earlier note (I wrote this morning) so I just came back to this terminal and checked but it's there! Yay! Anyway, miss you!
Yesterday it was swimming pool weather but I'm not sure about today yet! It was very cold this am! Talk later, send me mail!!!
Admire your capacity to write anything in a lobby with anxious eyes on you waiting. To keep some order, I got your wonderful long mail, which was responded yesterday right on the spot, and in case you couldn't access it, copied it here in a Note today. Obviously got your Note here too. Yes, I'm specializing in hurting your feelings!
Remember LZ, that no matter how cold it's outside, water is warmer. Get into that pool and get something back of those greedy "hotel" owners. I'm recalling long gone days on the beach. Sun was setting and a too fresh wind was blowing (even in Summer). People wore heavier clothing. Together with a bunch of crazy friends, we went swimming to the sea, it was much warmer there. When getting out, people looked at us as if aliens with wide opened eyes. We felt nothing but the wind, no temp sensation on our skins. Show those Texans what Canadian girls are made of!
Miss you too
It was tricky writing in the lobby and for most of the time in Austin, I was too zombified to got to the computer at all. Weird. You know part of the story...
I used to go in the water on a cool day with similar rationale. I'm chicken now - here again the feline hatred of being submerged in water comes out!
Fortunately that doesn't apply to bathing and stuff! I did spend a fair bit of time in the pool but with freezing feet. It seems my body has a limited range of temperature to be comfortable in!
Zombified/computer/lobby...bad equation!. Austin's Blues should be the song. Hehe...confronted to a freezing water pool...I'm chicken too
I hope the pool looks tempting and that the town has a lot of fun in store for you.
I hope you can use that hotel pc once again to file us in about tuesday night with the boys.
I can't report anything new, nothing of pleasant excitement at least so I shut up now and go to sleep.
