CODE PINK and other Planet Wide Peace Events
Blessed are the peace-makers for they are the children of God.
Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God.
So even though you may be not a Christian (which I don't consider myself), and don't believe in the Bible, and even if you don't believe in God, whatever God or not that you think of, well those are some pretty wise words.
So folks, that makes us essentially all little gods and goddesses, bringing us some heavy duty responsibility, eh?

Code Pink for Peace
March 8, 2006 Women (and all) Say NO to War
Today I received an email from my main political newslist about Code Pink
[link] . This is a U.S.A. based organization of primarily women (BUT OF COURSE MEN ARE WELCOME TO SIGN AND JOIN. IN FACT HUGO CHAVEZ JUST SIGNED RECENTLY) who want to stop the wars not only the horror in Iraq but everywhere on our planet Earth.
They use the colour pink to epitomize their passion to bring peace to everyone no matter what their country or belief. They want US ALL, women, men and children of all nationalities to join together to say no to war
[link], sign this petition (of course)
[link] and join in a world wide communion on International Women's Day March 8, 2006!!!!!
[link] .
In the U.S.A., there are several specific locations where people are gathering on March 8, 2006.
[link] Internationally, others are encouraged to organize their own events!

March 18, 2006 International Day of Peace and Global Action
The International Day of Peace, March 18, 2006 will also be celebrated in Vancouver and many other locations. Here are some additional links:
Various downloads of the poster for the Vancouver March 18 event are now available:
[link]Please post them up and circulate the link to allies!
Both internationally and across Canada, momentum is building for March 18, 2006. Check this report on the recent World Social Forum's call to build the global day of action:
[link] And from the Canadian Peace Alliance (CPA):
The CPA is calling for pan-Canadian demonstrations for March 18, 2006 the third anniversary of the invasion of Iraq. This will be a great opportunity to put our new Prime Minister, Stephen Harper on notice. He has already said that he would revive talks on Ballistic Missile defence and with the war drums beating again in the U.S.A. we will need to remind Mr Harper that the peace movement has already forced one Prime Minister to say no to George Bush's war plans. Join us on March 18, 2006! [someone else wrote this blurb]

June 23-28, 2006 World Peace Forum
Also in Vancouver, and we had to "fight" for this tiny budget not to be cut even in a city well-known for being a "nuclear free zone" and activist center for peace, OOOO, too controversial these days, yesyesyessss, my precious, YAY, due to the many signers of yet another petition, the budget was kept, increased and many volunteers have signed on to bring us the World Peace Forum 2006 on June 23 to 28, 2006 in Vancouver. Let's show Vancouver City Council and the world that peace is worth it. [someone else wrote that last sentence]
(A whopping $50,000 was allocated for this long promised event but that was even too much because all cash and loans from our tax money now have to go to the (haha no snow) 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, a little light entertainment for the jet-settingly wealthy, as well as for more bridges, freeways, tollways dor cars and that subway from the airport to downtown bored through granite in order to facilitate this important two week event!)

Many people will also be celebrating the peace that love brings tomorrow and I wish all of you the very best for
St Valentine's Day, the origins of which are somewhat obscure
but you're certainly welcome to google it! (I already spent quite a bit of time researching this little bit
)
Even if you don't have "the one" love partner in your life that everyone seems to think you need to be perfectly "happy" [you don't!], you have yourself and you are connected to the whole rest of the Universe so how can you despair? Pretty sappy, eh? Oh well, it's true!
And BTW, I don't mean to hurt the feelings of any warmongers, terrorists or serial killers out there. Just why don't you all get together your shit together somewhere else and kill each other, and leave the us peace mongers alone!

ABOUT ME, PEACE and MY NEXT POSTSIf you're still reading, you'll find my latest series of peace-making feelings coming right up! It's named in honour of Code PINK. If you like the idea, please make your own pink and peaceful designs and artworks of any media and note me and I might do something with them hmmm
I don't know what yet but!

Ah, forgot,Valentine's sucks!
I have to add that World Social Forum but I have so many other links that I couldn't possibly read them all or keep up. I'm only the vaguest bit knowledgeable on these things. I just try to do a bit.
Oh, was it Valentine's? I can't even remember - let's see, oh yes, went the doc, got some new meds and I am now quite a bit better. I was finally able to sleep and that broke the cycle! So that made me happy. Then I got that whole idea for Code Pink and What's Happening in Afghanistan was almost completed plus I am playing with a whole bunch of new Apos which are sooo exciting and well, I admit, I'm happy on my own though no one believes this is possible!
Now tell me, why, oh why, did your Valentine's suck? You can note me...!
Now you hit a nail here, about being able to be happy on your own. You are RIGHT, this can be VERY possible and desireable!!. Often think that the ones who can't believe in this, speak out of envy, shallowness or their incapacity to fill their lives with their own original content. Need others around all the time to conceal their emptiness.
The Valentine's thing is not that complex or private. In Argentina is virtually non-existent, though there was an attempt to import this celebration here. Only about 5% of the population give it a certain significance. It sucks from my personal stance, for is a day that makes many people unhappy for whatever reasons. For those who are not, and have a special loved one, it's like trying to re-affirm something they already know, hence, it's stupid...and commercial.. For the other part of it, there will be more than enough chances to note you on this and other subjects. Remember Ren's juicy affairs?
