Due to the posting and DDing of the kitten in a blender photo [link] , AS MY PROTEST I had requested that everyone please ignore my gallery until that photo and DD have been removed because it wasn't possible to deactivate my gallery.

Well, that simply isn't going to happen and there does't seem to be anything we can do at the moment!!!! :D

I'd like to thank all the commentors as well as the admin and the artists who participated in this discussion. Sorry but I still think this photo was in very poor taste but because dA isn't a democracy, there's not much a mere member or subscriber can do about it. Since this is pretty much a free/paid site though and dA relies on our subscriptions to operate, it seems to me that we should have a say it how things are done around here and more and more people are getting together to politely inform the staff of this. :iconlondonxpress: is one person who is carrying on a dialogue with other members to encourage change at dA. His journal page: [link]

Meanwhile, life continues apace. Sometimes, it goes at such a pace, I can't keep track of everything though for the most part, much of my life remains in cyberspace both here and elsewhere/when on the net.

I've had some family surprizes both good and bad and having to face some of my responsibilities. What a tough life, eh?

So if I've been less than present here please let me apologise. Inspiration has been down a bit too so I haven't been posting quite as wildly as I was for awhile there either. Hoping that this too will pass and that a brighter future will be in store for us all!

Thanks for reading!

Please wait for my friends' icons to load and then look at their galleries too!
Thanks!

Will keep it simple. They put up a site, which is a skeleton, and they run it the way they want. That's fair. It's body is made out of Members/Subscribers who complete the idea, and though not much can be done to change some criteria, we freely express ourselves about what we like, and should be exactly the same when we find something we don't like. That should also be fair, isn't it?. If we don't speak out, we become a flock, and we well know what happens to flocks projected to world politics. Let's not be fooled by "small" examples.

It's true, many serial killers began as animal torturers. Others restrain themselves to animals only (not much difference). Saying that implied violence on animals is "cute", reveals how sick a society we have become. Should we  about it...NO WAY!!

Take care hon!

Concurred Sergio. If everyone turned a blind eye to the ill's of the world we'd still be living in the dark ages, where people killed people and Nations attacked Nations. - Oooops, that's a synopsis of tonight's news. My mistake.

Wake me up when the world GROWS up! ............ zzzzZZZzzzzzz sleeping through the uglyness zzzzzZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.............

Peace!

Glad to hear we can stop ignoring you! Like I said before...I had a completely different take on the picture. Sorry if I upset you.

Hope your "troubles" in your private life go easier than it looks at this point. Yipiii for the good stuff. Looking forward to more art from you.

Thanks my dear, and no worries - we all have our "imho"'s!!!! Just can't help but think of how those serial killers get started and all that is implied by the pic. Hope you can understand my POV.

Thanks for the support and I'm just 'going with the flow" and trying not to 'push the river' these days. I am so lazy about posting lately - I've got scads of stuff sitting in a log-jam! :D

Glad to see you've been posting a bit more too lately! :D

S'ok, I am just a little light in the brain. Or maybe I just try so hard to ignore the really bad things in life. I think sometimes working with the handicapped and elderly makes me less worried about what happens on the Internet. I can see your point, I'm such an animal lover that hurting them is beyond my ability to fathom. I can't even watch Animal Cops on Animal planet! Those poor creatures!

And serial killers...they don't need to be inspired...they just do it. It's part of the syndrome. Those people are soo spooky, can't even imagine what goes on in their minds! Read about them and shudder.

Posting more, well a little, been doing a lot of posting on a new site too. TigerHomes.org is the place to be Live cams, watching real exotics, that are well taken care of. A whole bunch of people who love animals...wild and the family pet.

I just figure if we don't complain about stuff, nothing will get done but I've spent years ignoring all the problems and still ignore most of them or I'd go insane. I don't watch TV, read the papers or listen to the radio. All my news tips come via one list serve and occasionally I go to those suggested sites to look for more details - naturally some of these are news sites etc so I just get all of my news on the net. But believe me I don't go looking for it anymore...there's enough shite in my own life lately! :D

Bookmarked that site and will take a look sometime...when times permits. Amazing how swamped I am lately and I don't even have a "job"!! , though I sure could use the money! ;D

Actually TigerHome should come with a warning label! "Highly Addictive". Oh, and if you do join the forum, don't let TigerDave get to you. He is feeling the financial squeeze from the hurricanes and once in a while does his Money Rant. He is thinking of charging a small fee to watch the cams, and he gets a little crazy once in a while! And he has never heard the word, diplomatic, so never take his rants personally. He is going to let people be "sponsored" if they are very active. (which I think you mght be once you get into it) Or you can donate as little as $5 a mo and watch for free. He has thousands of people on his database, and less that 1% help him keep the animal cared for and the camsite running, the bill from servers alone must be awful. So try to look at the site fairly soon, we don't know when he is going to start charging. He doesn't know either, and who knows, maybe he'll never get around to it.

I have started donating lately, because I have been watching the animals almost everyday. Because my "work" has stablized, I have been catching up with things I wanted at the Gift Shop. (Any purchases go to helping the guy out and will entitle you to watch the cams.)

Thanks for the info - will take another look at the site! As for donating - I'm in one of those positions like Dave! :D

Yes...I know donating is hard for you. That's why I mentioned his idea for a mini-sponsor as he calls it. I really don't know the amount of money that puts you on the "Golden Sponsor" list. With me they went back and found all the times I have donated and I landed on the list. The only donation that I had made where I wasn't getting something back, was a $25 hurricane donation. Several of us can only donate 20 a month. This feeds one predator or one lemur troop for 1 day.

I'm going to try to sell prints and have the proceeds go to feeding the animals. It probably won't work but I'm going to try.
