The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.
And this is becoming a growing problem, I think, because n

Design Contest WIN 4000 POINTS, 20$ AND MORE!I've wanted to hold a design contest for a long time now, and finally I've gathered enough points to do it

What I'm looking for:
Everything! Wolves, foxes, fennec foxes, ferrets, servals, bobcats, tigers, other big cats, small cats, deers, dragons, gryphons, dogs, birds, hybrids, original species.. bring it!
I'm leaving the details to your imagination, but here are some things I really like:
-White base color with black and red markings<33 (mostly on canines)
-Cute and fluffy things! No need to go all big eyes and oversized heads, but animals with fur. Creepy and slimy things just aren't my thing.. Still don't be afraid to make something dark/evil
-Anything tribal
-Native american stuff
-Feathers!
-Tawny, golden, brown, white, red, blue, cyan, gray, black (well, not all combined)
-I like more natural base colors, but with smaller markings in unnatural colors like blue or red
-Long tails, big/long

Callibrate your Wacom tutorialHad you finally made the transition from intuos 3 to intuos 4?, or Are you rich to change into an intuos 5? Had you made the transition from a first generation cintiq to the new ones?. More levels of pressure will mean more quality to the paintings, am i right?.
Did you thought that by default the pen will it be like using butter on bread?, you try it for the first time and you love all of it, you said i have sooooooo much control on my strokes im having a blast. Then only to realize you only have total control of the brush but when you are moving it really slow?. But when you do quick strokes the pressure drops a lot of paint making you redraw tons of stuff?
Did you ever thought that painter its hard to handle with new tablet? Too much pressure? If it has more pressure why i cant control more easier the beggining of the stroke which is more crucial?.

Edit: I just read the journal of a group of 3 friends here and they posted a link to a site called Light a Million Candles [link] . This site is not seeking donations but has a unique way of having you sign a petition to stop child pornography on the net. Please go there and sign if you are at all concerned about this matter! Also please tell all you friends and family to sign it too. Remember, according to current psychiatric wisdom, these criminals cannot be rehabilitated. They are permanently twisted. ARG!!! If their victims live, they are often likely to abuse the next generation.

Hey All, I've just discovered that my page looks way better using Firefox! Too bad I'm not willing to change to it for everything. Anyway, you might want to keep that in mind when browsing all of deviantART.

Peter Zueuk has been a member since October 3, 2004 and lives in Russia. Active on the site, he's known for his tutorials and one to one assistance as well as being active on the program itself.

Not only one of the developers of the last several versions of Apophysis (the foremost flame fractal generator) but one of the chief testers and developers of the most currently used version 2.04 beta which can be downloaded at The Source Forge [link] , he produces some of the most incredible images with the program that I have ever seen.

From the time that I began posting here at dA in December 2005 (though I joined in July 2004), I've been overly impressed with Peter's works and perhaps haven't taken the time to give him the recognition he deserves and point him out to my watchers as well. Since many of you aren't fractaleers, please take some time to see something completely different - you will be surprised!
